About Verge Lab

A student-led platform for navigating new education systems and cultures. Born from one journey — built for many.

Our Mission

Starting high school in a new country can feel like starting over. The classes are different, the way teachers teach is different, the way students communicate is different — even simple things like joining a club or asking a teacher for help can feel unfamiliar.

For a student coming from China, there are plenty of questions, but the answers are scattered everywhere. Verge Lab brings the answers together — practical information, real student experiences, and checked opportunities — so the next student doesn't have to start from zero.

“We are starting with one journey: China → America. But the destination is bigger: across cultures.”

What We Stand For

Five principles behind every guide, story and opportunity on Verge Lab.

01

Student First

Everything is written from the student's point of view.

02

Practical

Less theory. More “here's exactly what to do.”

03

Honest

We're students, not experts. We say what we don't know.

04

Cross-Cultural

Different systems work differently — neither is “better.”

05

Learn Together

Student → Student. We build this with each other.

Who Does What

Verge Lab is a student project. Adults help with the technical floor — students own the voice.

🎓 Founder & Editor-in-Chief

A high-school student who made the journey from China's middle-school system to an American high school — and writes it all down.

🛠 Technical Support

Infrastructure, security and hosting — handled by family, so the content stays fully student-led.

📌 Student Contributors — starting 2027, students from different backgrounds will join as contributors and help Verge Lab grow beyond one journey.
